There is no definition of romance; similarly the term “romantic place” is also undefined. It is the art and culture; it is the calmness and refreshment which defines romantic places to a limited extent. In this article we will discuss 5 romantic places to travel with your lover. In our list we have considered Madhya Pradesh, Agra, Kashmir, Varanasi and Amritsar.


Madhya Pradesh: Khajuraho

In Madhya Pradesh, Khajuraho, an UNESCO World Heritage Site is a solid example of the rich cultural heritage of ancient India. Khajuraho is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has been one of the famous tourist spot regarding its famous sculptures and architecture. Out of 85 temples only 22 temples exist now. You will always like to come to Khajuraho to enjoy the lusty sculptures of the temples with your partner. Other mentionable place of Madhya Pradesh includes Ujjaini, Narmada river valley, Bhopal and many more.

Agra: Taj Mahal

Agra is the place where “The Monument of Love”, Taj Mahal is located. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built Taj Mahal in memory of his dead wife Mumtaj Mahal which now has secured a place among the Seven Wonders of World. This place is surely meant for lovers as love is in the air in Agra. However it will be unworthy if we don’t mention any other places of Agra than Taj Mahal as it was ruled by lots of kings and emperors who have kept their own marks on the heart of the city. Other mentionable places include Mankameshwar Temple, Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s tomb and Agra Fort.

Kashmir is surrounded by Great Himalayan Range and the Pir Panjal from north and south respectively. The famous green grassland which reminds every Indian of DDLJ is just more than breathtaking. Amritsar: Golden Temple

Amritsar city played an important role in freedom fighting and is known as a sacred place for the Sikhs. Guru Arjun the fifth Sikh Guru is credited to built the famous Golden temple of Amritsar in the 16th Century. Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the 19th century secured Punjab from external aggression and gold covered the upper floors of the Gurdwara giving it its distinctive appearance. Almost 1 lakh peoples visit this gurudwara daily. Whether you are atheist or a theist you can come here with your partner to feel the calmness and purity to refresh your soul. Other nearby places worth mention is Wagah Border, Samadhi of Guru Angad Dev Ji and Jallian Wala Bagh.
