Se Cathedral Goa
Se Cathedral, the biggest church in India is committed to Catherine of Alexandria. It is one of the most established and most praised religious structures in Goa and is one of the biggest houses of worship in Asia. The Se Cathedral was constructed to celebrate the triumph of the Portuguese underafonso de Albuquerque over a Muslim armed force, prompting the catch of the city of Goa in 1510. Since the day of the triumph happened to be on the banquet of Saint Catherine, the church was committed to her. The Sé Cathedral has five chimes. The current tower houses a popular chime, one of the biggest in Goa and frequently alluded to as ‘Brilliant Bell’ because of its rich tone which has been deified in a Portuguese sonnet. The primary sacrificial table is devoted to St. Catherine of Alexandria, and old depictions on either side of it delineate scenes from her life and affliction. The Cathedral is opened from 7:30am till 6:00pm. The best time to visit the spot is between the months of November and February when the climate is moderate
