Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park was formed in 1983 at Dehradun by combining the 3 sanctuaries of Dehradun namely Rajaji, Motichur and Chillaand. This was renamed after the famous freedom fighter Late Sri C Rajgopalachari. Rajaji National Park is about 10 Kms from Haridwar. It is spread over 920 Sq Kms. Out of which tourists have access by Gypsy jeep to only about 55 Kms. RNP is divided into 2 zones i.e. Chilla and Motichur. Rajaji National Park takes approx. 3-3.5 hr. to view wild life over there.
In the Rajaji National Park in Dehradun, you can find many wild animal like, Barking deer, Tiger, Wild boar, Elephant Leopard, Indian langur, Pythons, Indian Porcupine etc. nad there is more than 400 species of birds.
