New Vishwanath Temple

This exquisite temple structure is found practically at the middle of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) campus. The establishment stone of the temple was laid in March, 1931 and it took just about three decades to finish it. The new Vishwanath Temple is comprised of the marble and its development was finished in 1965. The tower of the temple is known as the tallest sanctuary tower, it’s about is 252 ft.high. Indeed it is tallest to the Qutubminar in the New Delhi. The design of the temple has been propelled by the original Vishwanath temple and is the brainchild of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya. The temple, manufactured by Birla Group of Industries, is otherwise called Birla Temple.

The new Vishwanath temple is a gigantic temple complex comprising of seven temples. The Shiva temple is in the ground floor and the Lakshmi Narayan and the Durga temples are on the first floor.

The entire content of Gita and concentrates from the hallowed Hindu scriptures are engraved with outlines on the internal marble dividers of the temple.

The temple is crowded in every season from the devotees. The temple gets decorated as well as attracts huge crowd on many special functions, for example, Shivratri, Navratries, Krishna Janmanshtami, Shravanmahotasva, Annakut, Deepawali and temple’s foundation day. You can reach to the temple through the auto, taxi or rickshaw from any corner of the city.

Entrance Timings : All days of the week 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM. On special events, for example, Shivratri, sanctuary opens from 4:00 AM – 12:00 PM midnight. On every Monday Rudrabhishek is performed from 7:00 AM – 8:00am.

Aarti timings : 4:00 AM, 4.45 AM, 10.30 Am, 11.45 AM, 12 PM, 1:00 PM, 6.45 AM, 7.30 PM, 8:00 PM and 8.45 PM
